Team / organisation unit description

This role is expected to work closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, Data Architects and Technical Relationship Manager to lead the process for defining technical and application architectures that not only meets the current needs but also is forward looking in its design. This role is expected to lead the architecture stream of work with a view to improve the architecture processes. Must perform the role and responsibilities with a high level of integrity, ethics and commitment to service excellence.

Tasks and activities

  • Work closely with our Information Technology Service (ITS) teams to ensure that business unit or OWG-wide initiatives are correctly architected and expectations are clearly defined and understood for each project.
  • Develop, communicate and document architectural patterns and blueprints, and specific designs for the technical implementation of projects and services.
  • Develop, and review technical and application architecture following our corporate standards and procedures.
  • Provide oversight on project(s) to ensure alignment with corporate and industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in architectural reviews of solutions and provide feedback and recommendations for adjustments to architectures.
  • Proactively raise issues and be the point person for any technical issues related to physical Develop business knowledge and apply technical alternatives architecture.
  • Research and participate in training and stay current on client/server related issues and technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise in analyzing internal customer requirements and provide a recommendation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional requirements (certifications, special knowledge, software etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to assess current state and provide technical and strategic inputs in the form of future state architectures, designs, and recommendations regarding enterprise applications and software development processes
  • Expertise across IT Infrastructure towers - Security, OS Platforms, Hardware, Networking, Storage, Databases, Middleware, Directory Services, and Internet Technologies
  • 4+ years of experience as an application architect Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation especially since this role requires influencing stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to define transformation roadmaps and projects for realization of such roadmaps
  • Ability to provide technical expertise and oversight during project implementation
  • Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to understand the importance of building out ideas into pragmatic, usable form, so that the architecture will be applied every day and not be relegated to shelf-ware
