Allegro is a Polish company in the new media sector, based in Poznan and running among others the portals allegro.pl and bankier.pl. It is part of the South African Naspers group. In terms of revenues from the internet business, the company is the largest in Poland.
For over the last 17 years, Allegro has been changing the way people in Poland and CEE do the online shopping. Nowadays over 14 million Poles visit Allegro.pl monthly, contributing to the sale of over 750.000 items on the platform every day. Allegro is getting more and more mobile, with over 47 million mobile searches monthly and over 130.000 items bought on mobile devices every day. The company was founded in 1999 in Poznan (Poland), a city that still remains the company’s HQ. Other our Polish branches are located in Warsaw, Torun, Wroclaw and Cracow. The company employs over 1,300 people, almost a half of which are software and hardware engineers. Allegro Group owns and operates online marketplaces: Allegro in Poland and Germany. Since 2008, Allegro has been part of Naspers Group.
